Thank you for reading this and I'm back off to GTR2. Given the fact that there's 5-6 almost equally matched cars to pick from, the racing should be a lot closer. OK, the Maserati and the 550 will be faster than the Lambo or Lister, but the difference is never as big as it was between the Pantera and the rest of the field in GT Legends. The top cars are a lot more evenly matched. Also multiplayer will be a lot better than GT Legends. The thing I love about GTR2 is the speed sensation. But on lap 9 out of 10, I made a mistake when braking into that last corner again, lost control and the car slid through the corner, cutting it and all that resulted in a stop and go penalty. And so he did, on lap 8, where I re-passed him and was trailing the leader by about 6 secs, comfortably sitting in the 2nd. So I put my foot down, trying to force him to make a mistake under pressure. Then on lap 7 I made a mistake in the last corner and allowed him to pass me. I was holding on to him and after the first 6 laps, the gap was only 2.5 secs!!! The guy in the Ferrari behind me was closing me in by about 0.5 sec a lap.

Settled behind a Lambo, which was obviously the fastest driver on the grid. I managed to pull of one of my trademark starts outbreaking a Ferrari 550 into the 1st corner. Still, only qualified on the 2nd row on the grid. In the qually I managed a 1:32:xxx, and in the warm-up (with race fuel and race setup) a mid 1:31:xxx time. It helped and at the end of the practise session my best lap was a 1:34:xxx. So I adjusted the brake balance towards the rear a bit to stop offloading the rear too much. Valencia is a very challenging circuit, but great!!! The last corner is very tricky and was catching me out when braking into it. Then I became to know the very demanding corners and found some speed going through them. Joined the 1st practise session and put a few laps in. Race round Valencia (never even raced there before). No other car in the game made me feel so in one with it.
I felt like sitting inside the car and felt every single weight shift, every wheel spin and every lock up.

It was simply the most rewarding drive I've ever experienced in a PC sim. I could throw it into the corners and come out with my foot on the throttle way earlier than on the other cars. After adjusting a few things in the setup (mainly front suspension, tyre pressures and ride hight) the car became a completely different monster.
So I took the Lambo for a spin round Brno and wow. The thing is, on most cars, the stock setups are quite understeery. I drove it in the demo, and liked it, but I thought something was missing there. The thing is, I never even considered the Lambo. Bad cockpit view too.ĭidn't even bother with the Ferrari 575 or the Viper, don't like them. Maserati MC12 - probably the fastest car but no MOTEC information, big downside. Saleen - fast, but don't like "big" cars with inferior handling. Lister Storm - OK, great MOTEC display which is a big plus. Over the last few days I was trying to decide which one of the fast cars suits me the best. The story of today and how I became to love this game ultimately.
